As part of the 65th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Switzerland and China, the first Sino-Swiss Forum fully dedicated to women was launched on the 26th of November 2015 in Geneva. A first of its kind event, this forum was an excellent occasion to reinforce the bilateral relations between the two countries, this from the brand new perspective of “women in leadership”.
Swiss State Secretary Ms. Marie-Gabrielle Ineichen-Fleisch as well as Chinese Ambassador in Switzerland Ms. Xu Jinghu were the guests of honor of the day. A delegation of 50 women entrepreneurs from the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, one of China’s major diplomatic associations, came all the way from China to Geneva to take part to this unique event.
Giving women the possibility to explore cooperation ways beyond cultural differences in a one day of conferences and debate, that was the challenge that the four women behind the initiative decided to take up: Lucia Fesselet-Comina, Isabelle Yang, Géraldine Henchoz and Yaël Gehring, and their executive committee members Lei Wang and Aline Ballaman, all passionate by the Chinese culture and language. And the challenge was a success: the forum – fully sold out – gathered renowned speakers such as Ms. Babette Keller-Liechti, Winner of Veuve Clicquot Businesswoman Award 2009 and Ms. Huang Han, Professor of Psychology and famous Chinese TV guest host.
Having attracted nearly 200 participants, the Sino-Swiss Women’s Forum is a great example of the intercultural dialogue and will remain a source of inspiration for numerous women.
Join us at the first edition of the Sino-Swiss Women's Forum, entirely organized by women, for women!
